"The project was actually in protest at the banning of Size Zero models, amidst government-supported publicity saying that size zero posed a threat to people's health. It also explored the fact that negative language is now politically-unacceptable about people who are overweight, but becoming increasingly common when used about slim of thin people.

"My research had led me to feel that there was no sense of proportion in the relative publicity and funding given to anorexia (largely due to the effectiveness of the eating disorders lobby), as opposed to that afforded to tackling the obesity crisis, despite the WHO having declared it an emergency. For example, I was shocked when saw the comparative figures on the deaths per year in Scotland from obesity (thousands), when compared to the very few from anorexia (only just in double figures). The rest of the UK didn't even keep figures on obesity deaths. Be interesting to see what comments you get - and how far they are affected by political-correctness!"

Wow, powerful message Melinda. I can only imagine that a similar debate is waging here in America, the home of the two-legged whales.

I originally interpreted the haiga completely differently... seeing it has the intimidating power that women can have over men. Of course, I have three tiny, but strong, women in my life that sort of keep me in line.

Either interpretation, I really like your haiga.
